Saxophonist and composer Trish Clowes' star is firmly in the ascendant. Currently a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, her appearances this year have included Celtic Connections, where the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra performed the live premiere of her composition 'Sketch'. She's also recording a new album with the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Trish's major influence is Wayne Shorter but her playing is often compared to that of Stan Getz. She explores a fascinating hinterland between jazz and contemporary classical music, creating potential modern standards that demonstrate her love for the jazz tradition.
Trish appears with her quartet featuring Chris Montague on guitar, Calum Gourlay on bass and drummer James Maddren.
"Ambitious, fresh and experimental. Trish is a talent to watch" - Julian Joseph
"This is British Jazz at its best... she is a great talent." - Jamie Cullum
