The Art Of Hopelessness

A welcome return to Calstock Arts for the seventh Python with his hilarious new show.

Humanity is a rough neighbourhood and history has shown that we are incapable of making the world a better place. We don't know what we are doing, who we are or why we are here - never have done and never will. That doesn't mean we can't be kind to animals, water the plants and sing a few songs.

Neil Innes has made people laugh, sing and think since forming The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band with Viv Stanshall in the early 1960s before working with Monty Python on stage and film throughout the 1970s and 1980s. A talented artist, musician and raconteur Neil went on to write and present his own hugely popular TV series The Innes Book of Records as well as forming The Rutles with Eric Idle - a hilarious musical parody of The Beatles.

On the road since the 1990s, Neil has entertained audiences in America, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and Calstock with a mixture of music, comedy, and comment.
