The Commodores' Founder Thomas McClary & His Band

The Commodores’ Founder & Hit Writer Thomas McClary and his Amazing Band makes a rare UK appearance performing the hits of the Commodores and more.

The Commodores, including guitarist Thomas McClary and saxophonist Lionel Richie, made their mark on music history when the group signed with Motown Records in 1972. Together, McClary and Richie wrote many songs, and the group performed to packed arenas, even opening for The Rolling Stones. After a hiatus, McClary is once again touring with The Commodores.

The Commodores’ Founder Thomas McClary & His Band energise the famous guitar licks from three decades of music history as well as their new release, "America," which was co-written by Thomas McClary and his son Ryan McClary. "The Commodores songs and our love of music live on," said McClary. "After taking some time for myself, I'm back on stage and in the studio to make music."

Although it is not common knowledge, McClary wrote or co-wrote thirty of the original Commodore group's hits, sometimes singing lead vocals as well as playing lead guitar. "After I co-founded the band with my college buddy Lionel Richie, we found a lot of success and earned the loyalty of fans all over the world," said McClary. The group broke the all-time live show attendance previously held by The Beatles. "I'm happy to tour again and reconnect with my fans," said McClary.

The Commodores’ Founder Thomas McClary & His Band are in the UK in January 2015, bringing their Motown sound to a new generation of fans. Performing hits like "Brick House," "Easy," "Nightshift," and "Three Times a Lady" as well as the new single "Mr. Cool Breeze". Grammy-nominated guitarist and songwriter Thomas McClary is a founding member of The Commodores, which signed with Motown Records in 1972. Together with band member Lionel Richie, McClary wrote several songs, including "Flying High," "High on Sunshine," "Got To Be Together," "Hold On," and many others.
