Photography Experience Day

If you want to learn, improve or simply enjoy photography, an experience day offers you the opportunity to photograph trains, stunning scenery, market towns, local heritage and meet great people. You will even go ‘behind the scenes’ to areas not open to the public.

Experience days are for photographers of all abilities – beginner through to advanced. Led by expert tutors from our partners North West Photography Courses, you can have as much or little support as you need to enjoy a great day out. The numbers are small, no more than six to a tutor.

The course starts in the morning at Bury Bolton Street Station, in a training room and on the platform - including welcome tea/coffee, safety briefing, tuition tailored to the aims/ambitions of attendees, light lunch then out onto the system and location shoots.

The Railway runs through some great scenery and local heritage which lends itself to wonderful opportunities for photographing the various steam and diesel trains (subject to timetable), as well as stations, landscape and people.

In the afternoon you will return to Bury where a unique behind the scenes photographic opportunity is available, followed by a debrief covering the days photographic experiences.
