'Souvenirs' - Torture Survivors Showcase Their Unique Performance

Torture survivors who are part of the Write to Life creative writing group are bringing their acclaimed piece of verbatim theatre to Bristol for the first time courtesy of Tobacco Factory Theatres.

'Souvenirs' is based on the testimonies of five survivors of torture who received treatment from the UK-based charity Freedom from Torture. Each survivor shares their individual story as well as their challenges in adapting to life in Britain.

Each performance sees the survivors become the play's 'actors' as it is delivered by the protagonists themselves resulting in an intimate, powerful, and often unexpectedly hilarious, show.

Souvenirs will be performed in Bristol for the first time at the Brewery Theatre on Sunday 5th October 2014. It will be followed by a discussion and book signing with company members.
