St George’s Fundraising Concert
Schubert Octet in F
Dohnányi Sextet in C Op 37
It is no secret that artists the world over consider St George’s to be one of the truly great concert halls. Now, violinist Jack Liebeck has assembled a stellar line up of musicians to celebrate the venue in an inspirational evening of charitable music-making whose centrepiece will be Schubert’s masterly ‘Octet in F’. In a night full of stars, the brightest of all must surely be Alfred Brendel, who adds his own distinctive presence by reading a personal selection of poems set to music.
Please note that Alfred Brendel is participating in this event as a reader only and will not be playing the piano.
Tonight’s artists have all given their time for free for this event.
