Charles Hazlewood, The Army of Generals, Adrian Utley Guitar Orchestra
In a unique new collaboration, the principal string players from Charles Hazlewood's Army of Generals team up with Portishead's Adrian Utley and his Guitar Orchestra, performing music by the great Estonian mystic Arvo Pärt.
The almost mediaeval tones of an ensemble of electric guitars are the heavenly voices here, in place of traditional choir, and combine extraordinarily well with the smoky warmth of old gut-strung stringed instruments.
It's a soundworld that has never before been explored.
