Regrettably the late George Mabuza is not likely to be playing tonight (for obvious reasons) but his music will definitely be at the heart of things. A great sax player and composer, George’s lively blend of modern jazz and Afrobeat with carnival-friendly calypso and soca was far too life-affirming to be lost when he passed away so this talented collective of local jazzers has committed themselves to ensuring that never happens. It’s music that manages to be thoroughly listenable, great for dancing and sure to put a smile on your face.
