The Doric String Quartet has emerged as 'one of the finest young string quartets' (Gramophone) amongst the new generation, receiving glowing responses from audiences and critics across the globe. Thomas Adès's suite of character pieces The Four Quarters forms the centrepiece of this programme which opens with one of Haydn's most popular quartets. The programme concludes with the first of Beethoven's celebrated late quartets, and launches our mini-series, Beethoven: Light And Dark.
'Doric String Quartet keeps the genre young and vital.' The Washington Post.
There is a free pre-concert talk with cellist John Myerscough at 6:30pm.
