Vivaldi Concertos from L'Estro Armonico Op 3
Bach Art of Fugue (excerpts)
Rachel Podger - 'Britain's finest period violinist' (BBC Music Magazine) - is one of the most creative talents to emerge in the field of period performance and has established herself as a leading interpreter of the music of the Baroque and Classical periods. Rachel here directs her own hand-picked ensemble, Brecon Baroque, in a programme that brings together two musical giants. Vivaldi's L'Estro Armonico Concertos contain some of his most exuberant music, appealing to both specialist early music fans and 'classical' audiences alike, and combined with movements from Bach's Art of Fugue, this concert is one of the highlights of the autumn season.
Tickets include 6:15pm pre-concert gala drinks party: a celebration of the concert season launch and the unveiling of the refurbished foyer / bar, with internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro's unique, site-specific light art installation 'Rhythm and Blues'.
