Sounds and Sweet Airs

Shakespeare Sounds and Sweet Airs: a celebration of the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth.

Programme includes works by: Oliver Knussen, Hywel Davies, Thomas Adès, Mark Bowden, Howard Skempton and Ralph Vaughan Williams

Sounds and Sweet Airs is a celebration of 20th and 21st century choral and instrumental music inspired by Shakespeare's poetry to mark the 450th anniversary of the great bard's birth, and showcases some of the most celebrated and exciting living composers. The programme combines the performing forces of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's new music ensemble Kokoro and the London-based chamber choir Canticum, who are fast-gaining a reputation for being one of the most musically versatile ensembles in the country.
