Evocations of the sea in all its moods: Mendelssohn's atmospheric, much-loved Hebrides Overture; the remarkable Interludes from Britten's classic, elemental opera, Peter Grimes; and Rimsky-Korsakov's colourful and exotic Arabian Nights-inspired tone poem, with its famous depiction of Sinbad's ship heaving on the ocean.
