Norms Of Conduct

Norms of Conduct, a triple bill of work that focuses on the distinguishing characteristics of human nature; Dance of Possession, Costa Del Sol and What Sexuality Is Love?

Mystic and magical, with elements of tribalism and trance, Dance of Possession is part of Rosie Kay’s wider investigation which looks at how anthropological sources can inspire art today. Set to historic recordings from countries as diverse as Colombia, Cameroon and the Central African.

Costa Del Sol is set under the blazing sun of dawn in Marbella. A group of young tourists perform their rites of summer, disrupting a picturesque flamenco postcard with a sacrificial rumpus of explosive and kitschy dance by choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra.

Artistic Director Adam Rutherford’s, What Sexuality Is Love? explores the notion of oppression across the world through a breakdown in laws that protect everyday human rights.
