John Thwaites

As part of Birmingham Conservatoire's Delius / Ireland Festival, John Thwaites introduces a programme featuring solo pianists in masterpieces by the greatest pianist-poet of them all Frederic Chopin. These illuminate 'amuse bouche' morsels from the Festival - works by John Ireland, a quintessential Englishman with a virtuoso piano technique inspired by Chopin and Frederick Delius, who although born in Bradford of German descent, settled in France and had only a passing interest in the piano.
