Never miss another 'Ex Cathedra' show
Fauré's Requiem And Poulenc's Organ Concerto: Ex Cathedra, City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO)
Ex Cathedra’s trailblazing performances have put it at the forefront of British choirs. Today’s concert is a tribute to Poulenc, since 2013 is the 50th anniversary of his death. The programme is based around two of the greatest French choral works: Fauré’s gentle and unconventional Requiem, accompanied by the CBSO, and Poulenc’s cantata Figure humaine – a powerful and intense hymn to freedom, written in occupied France during the Second World War.
