Never miss another 'City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO)' show
Mahler's Fifth : City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO)
A song of love, death and delirious joy…there’s a lifetime of emotion in Mahler’s tremendous Fifth Symphony. Yet the superb young musicians of the CBSO Youth Orchestra will go straight to its deeply romantic heart; they never hold back, and under the inspirational direction of Andrew Litton, this should be one of the highlights of the season.
First, though, they tackle Ravel’s sumptuous Piano Concerto, performed by a French star who can play it with one hand behind his back!
City Of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO)
Founded in 1920, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra has always had an illustrious career. In fact, the first concert was conducted by Sir Edward Elgar. The orchestra has grown into a 90-piece ensemble with a worldwide reputation.
