The theatrical tale of Dona Rosita is one of Lorca's greatest theatrical achievements.
A young girl waits for the return of her fiance and a year becomes five, becomes fifteen, her hope of marriage fade.
The play charts the decline of a young girl full of dreams into the sad and mellow Dona Rosita the Spinster, as she clings hopelessly to the lie she has needed to make her solitude bearable.
