Hank Wangford has been performing his special kind of country music for nearly thirty years, inspiring fellow musicians and pleasing audiences worldwide along the way. This messianic derailment into country music came from being doctor to Gram Parsons (ex-Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers) then playing with the man who passed the country torch to the world of rock 'n roll. He has helped make the genre more popular with two ground breaking TV series, ‘Big Big Country’ and ‘The A to Z of C&W’, several BBC radio series, and two successful books ‘Lost Cowboys’ and ‘Hank Wangford Vol 3 The Middle Years’. The music is ‘tongue in cheek country music’ – his trademark cocktail of ‘misery, melody and raw emotion’ - and any opportunity to experience Hank Wangford should not be missed! His new album ‘Save me the Waltz’ has just been released and ranks along his best work to date.
“If you want originality, something that still has the bite and twang that drained out of so much country, the sharp cutting wit and the rawness of hard country, then there is only one man to see. His name is Hank Wangford." New York Times
