Beethoven Plus Haydn: Belcea Quartet
The Belcea Quartet has very much come of age, but maturity and widespread international repute has in no way dented the freshness of the players’ music-making. The first of three concerts in Town Hall this season features Beethoven’s sublime C sharp minor Quartet (Op 131), preceded by Haydn’s final quartet (left incomplete with the words “Gone is all my strength, old and weak am I”).
