Belfast One Act Play Festival: The Donahue Sisters: Clarence Players
"All for one and one for all, the Donahue sisters stick together!" is the cry of the three Donahue women, Denise – known as Dunya – Annie and Rosie. Now in their early forties, the women meet in their parents' home, after a five-year gap, to re-enact a sinister event from their childhoods. This one-act play explores the darker aspects of sexuality and violence in three young girls. Gathered together the sister’s talk of their unhappy lives into the night until the time comes for the ritual re-enactment of a disturbing incident from their childhood. A challenge to both actors and director.
