Bath International Music Festival: Barbara, Brel & Brassens

Specially created for Bath International Music Festival this evening celebrates songs of three great French-language troubadours whose careers began in the 1960s and whose lyrics and music are still as powerful as when they were first performed.

Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens and Barbara were powerful performers as well as creators and songwriters. The sentiments are heartfelt, passionate, dark, emotional, nostalgic and satirical and the lives behind the songs are equally complex.
