Got No Strings Puppetry Conference

Got No Strings is a brand new puppetry conference, brought to you by Scratch Built Productions in association with Proteus Theatre Company.

We believe that puppetry is an important artform and one that deserves to be recognised by the creative industries as a key player in performance art. Based on this belief, Got No Strings will feature a day of discussion, debate and development that will inspire, encourage and promote networking with puppeteers from across the country. Makers, performers, directors and artists wanting to explore the full potential of what puppetry can bring to their work are invited to take part in the conference at a new puppetry hub in North Hampshire, the Proteus Creation Space.

Participants will be invited to take part in plenaries and provocations with funders, stakeholders, programmers, co-producers and peers regarding in politics of puppetry, with a panel of renowned guest speakers including John Wright (Trestle Theatre, Told by an Idiot), Roman Stefanski (Polka Theatre), Mary Swan (Proteus Theatre Company) & Finn Caldwell (Gyre & Gimble, Elephantom, War Horse).

Artists are invited to bring along and share ideas for various puppet projects, and a selection of artists will show examples of their work. Entry to Father Christmas's Christmas List, Scratch Built Production's new interactive show, is included in the price.
