Laura Macdonald, David Berkman

Superbly lyrical saxophonist Laura Macdonald and outstandingly resourceful, New York-based pianist David Berkman are touring to promote a brand new duo album and arrive direct from London Jazz Festival.

Berkman is an award-winning composer and a recording artist and accompanist whose work with singers including Jane Monheit makes his keyboard work the perfect stimulus for Macdonald's imagination. A hugely experienced musician, his credits include tours, recordings and concerts with Sonny Stitt, Brian Blade, Cecil McBee, Tom Harrell, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Ray Drummond, Billy Hart, Lenny White, David "Fathead" Newman, and Hank Crawford.

Together, Berkman and Macdonald, who is well-established as one of Scotland's leading jazz musicians and has worked with Donny McAslin, Antonio Sanchez, Martina Almgren, and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, create the sort of magic that can only materialise when master musicians spark off one another.
