Lost Lochlands: George Street & Environs

Beginning from the site of the old Loch of Aberdeen, you'll take a trip back in time to recall the shops, churches, schools, cinemas and public baths which were situated in this area.

Many folk will remember ‘The Rubber Shop’, Isaac Benzies, Maxwells, the City Cinema, Gallowgate Middle School with its ‘Pond’ – we hope to recreate those memories and reveal more about medieval George St and the Lochlands when the loch was still the main source of water for the city

This is a new ‘circular’ tour designed especially for those who like shorter walks or have mobility problems.
