Kate Fox

Since 2013, Words and Whippets has proudly paraded a showcase of the finest Northern-bred poets. Each year they select some of the finest spoken word artists to perform their unique styles and give a platform to the northern voice.

Joining us this year is stand-up poet Kate Fox, previous Poet-In-Residence for both the Great North Run and Glastonbury Festival. Kate has dominated the airwaves, appearing on BBC 1, and 2 and Radio 3 showcasing her funny, warm and heartfelt poetry.

Andy Bennett, Norwich-based (but Easingwold-born) witty poet and veteran of the Edinburgh Fringe. Andy is a Romantic poet, in that he drinks too much, has a chronic disease, and can often be found wandering around woodland counting on his fingers.

Hannah Davies, 2016 Great Northern Slam Champion. Hannah’s gigged across the UK, and her work has been featured on BBC Radio York. Themes range from feminism, motherhood to unforgettable drunken nights.

Katie Greenbrown, Say Owt Slam #12 winner, sweet poems about life and bees.
