West Side Story

WBOS celebrate their 80th Anniversary and Leonard Bernstein's Centenary with an electrifying new production of West Side Story.

The world's greatest love story takes to the streets as Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, where two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks.

Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time and features some of musical theatre’s most loved songs, including: Somewhere, Maria, America, Tonight and I Feel Pretty.

West Side Story is choreographed by Steve Elias, who is most noted for his work in BBC 2's Our Dancing Town, but also has a celebrated career as a West End performer and choreographer.

This is an amateur production.

West Bromwich Operatic Society (WBOS)
