Elephant Man
The newly-formed Fourth Monkey Ensemble's production of Elephant Man visits the Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton, on 6th March 2015 as part of its national tour.
Inspired by the iconic David Lynch film and the true story of Joseph Merrick, Elephant Man was written by the company's Artistic Director Steven Green and received rave reviews and numerous award nominations, including the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression award, when it premiered with a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2012.
Daniel Chrisostomou repeats his much-acclaimed performance as Merrick, who owes his existence to those who exploit his horrible deformities for their own ends. But as he sits silently under curious stares, it is the world around him that appears grotesque.
