Simply Dan

Simply Dan was created by like-minded musicians who wanted to authentically present the kaleidoscopic sounds of Steely Dan. The 11 piece band focus on producing the complex harmonies and intricate rhythms of Donald Fagen and his band. Founded by Mark Roadnight (lead singer, guitar), Russ Parker (guitar), Roger Evans (keys), Mark Claydon (drums) and David McLeod (bass), the players are all experienced world class musicians who have toured, gigged and written songs all over the world with artist such as Carleen Anderson, Joe Quarterman, Marti Pellow and the Soul Jazz Collective.

Together, they have a penchant for playing Steely Dan covers, challenging themselves by staying faithful to the original recordings whilst also firmly putting their own stamp on the material.

Simply Dan use a 4 piece horn section to add to the already rich harmonies and sound. Along with two soulful backing vocalists, this Steely Dan tribute band aim to do justice to one of the world’s most interesting and challenging groups ever recorded.
