Cultures collide in Noël Coward’s sophisticated three act comedy! An English Earl plans to marry an American actress, to the great dismay of his well-to-do family.

His mother, the Countess, plots to shatter the engagement and retain the status quo. Matters soon become complicated when the family maid unexpectedly threatens to resign following the happy couple’s arrival and the actress’s former flame drunkenly crashes the affair.

Following the huge success of the hilarious 1951 comedy from the master playwright Noël Coward, Julie Andrews and Colin Firth starred in the film revival in 2000.
