Pygmalion By George Bernard Shaw
Phonetics expert Henry Higgins is betting that he can turn guttersnipe Eliza Doolittle into a proper lady and pass her off as an aristocrat. Under the sceptical eye of his friend Colonel Pickering, Higgins puts Eliza through some difficult paces; but as the Cockney flower girl begins to blossom, Higgins begins to finds himself suddenly stuck for words.
Perhaps better known as the inspiration for the musical My Fair Lady, George Bernard Shaw’s 1912 class satire is a romantic, thought provoking classic comedy in its own right, featuring some of the finest examples of his trademark wit.
