Our first concert under the baton of Daniel Hogan as our new Musical Director.
We present a programme of early twentieth century music starting with the overture to Nielsen's comic opera Maskarade, followed by Elgar's Cello Concerto with soloist John Myerscough. John is the cellist of the Doric Quartet and enjoys an international solo career. We are delighted to welcome him to Winchester for the first time.
We finish with Prokofiev's hymn to the human spirit, his Symphony No. 5
