National Mills Weekend
National Mills Weekend is an initiative started up by The Mills Section of The Society for The Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) in 1984.
The aim is to encourage people to explore our milling heritage by visiting wind and watermills and taking part in special events.
More than 300 mills will be open around the country, including many which do not normally have public access. Wicken Corn Mill will be milling flour during the weekend, wind permitting.
Not surprisingly, this is a weekend that many windmill and watermill fanatics out there look forward to each year.
National Mills Weekend is also a wonderful excuse to explore the East Anglian countryside, taking in rarely seen sights and a chance to find new places.
