WhitLit: A Place called Winter
The British coast features heavily in Patrick Gale’s life and work and his latest acclaimed novel ‘A Place Called Winter’ even features his Whitstable ancestors. A bold departure from his previous books , Patrick talks to Whitstable’s Peggy Riley about his searching and poignant historical new novel based on a true story in his family, featuring love, relationships, secrets and escape.
Patrick Gale is one of this country’s best loved novelists. His most recent works are ‘A Perfectly Good Man’, ‘The Whole Day Through’ and the Richard and Judy bestseller ‘Notes from an Exhibition’. Patrick was born on the Isle of Wight and now lives on a farm near Land’s End, Cornwall.
