Kate talks to author and lecturer Dr Jeremy Scott about her life in literature. Kate Mosse OBE is an international bestselling novelist, non-fiction author and playwright.

Kate Mosse is an international bestselling novelist, non fiction author and playwright. Her historical adventure novels of the Languedoc Trilogy – Labyrinth, Sepulchre & Citadel – are published in 42 languages and have sold more than 5 million copies throughout the world. Her No 1 bestselling Gothic fiction includes The Winter Ghosts, The Mistletoe Bride & Other Haunting Tales and The Taxidermist’s Daughter. Non fiction includes The House: Behind the Scenes at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, which accompanied the Emmy-winning BBC television series, and Chichester Festival Theatre at Fifty. Her first play, Syrinx, won a PPC Award in 2009 and she is currently working on a major commission for CFT. A regular broadcaster for BBC radio and television, she has written the introductions to a range of publications including Lucy Kerbel’s One Hundred Great Plays for Women and the anniversary edition of Vera Brittain’s A Testament of Youth.

The Founder & Chair of the Board of the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction (formerly the Orange Prize), she is Patron of the Consort of Twelve, Patron of the Fishbourne Centre, and on the Executive Board of Women of the World. In October 2014 she was named Deputy Chair of the Board of the National Theatre, on which she has served as a member since 2011. Kate was awarded the Spirit of Everywoman for services to the arts in 2012 and received an OBE for services to literature in 2013.
