Join Glen Laker, screenwriter of ITV’s crime drama ‘Vera’ (starring Brenda Blethyn) and Julie Wassmer, former Eastenders writer turned crime novelist, as they discuss their on/offscreen crime writing with BBC Radio Kent Drivetime host Dominic King.
Glen Laker is one of the writers responsible for successfully transferring Ann Cleeves’s fictional Northumberland police detective, Vera Stanhope, from the page to TV. Glen has also written for Holby City and Home Fires. He lives in Whitstable.
Julie Wassmer is a TV drama writer who contributed for almost twenty years to the popular BBC series, ‘Eastenders’ – together with ITV’s ‘London’s Burning, and Channel 5’s ‘Family Affairs.’
Her Little Brown UK published crime series, The Whitstable Pearl Mysteries,combine seafood, murder and multi-tasking restaurateur and private detective, Pearl Nolan. Julie also lives in Whitstable.
