Cloud Nine Theatre Company

Cloud Nine's latest production is a new absurdist comedy by the North Tyneside author Peter Mortimer. When our character Smith hears the shout through his front door 'A parcel for Mr. Smith!' it begins a bizarre often ludicrous sequence of events whose final outcome can not be predicted. Is this a play about Post office inadequacies, the fear of opening parcels, or one man's obsession with Royal Mail minutiae? Judge for yourself as actor Dylan Mortimer leads us through an obsessive, surreal and highly comic piece which might possibly mean the end of the world. Or at least the decline in the use of string on post office parcels.

This is the latest one-act play in the highly successful series from Cloud Nine, the Cullercoats-based theatre company who only perform new plays, only by northern writers. The play is directed by Neil Armstrong. The evening also features live music from one of the cast area's leading musicians
