Never miss another 'Ardal O'Hanlon' show
Ardal O'Hanlon presents his latest stand-up show. The style is observational, the subject matter is Life itself, and the default expression is one of utter disbelief!
This show could have been called "The Sh*t I've Had To Put Up With!" or "Why, Oh Why?" or even "Multiples Of Ha" but no one name would do it justice. It's that ineffable!
Lurking beneath Ardal's mild-mannered demeanour resides a sharp and probing (and fairly mild-mannered) comic brain. Sometimes thoughtful, sometimes silly, but always punchy, he has tickled audiences all over the world. In a comprehensive set, he talks about not just the things that matter but also about the things that don't matter at all. Which covers pretty much everything.
"Charm, intelligence and fabulous phrase-making" - The Guardian
"He flutters through a variety of topics with a poet's eye for
Inconsequential detail" – The Telegraph
"Particularly inspired…you could listen to O'Hanlon's infectious self-effacement for hours…highly entertaining and frequently brilliant" - Irish Independent
Although best known for his starring roles in the sitcoms, Father Ted (for which he won a British Comedy Award and a BAFTA nomination) and My Hero, Ardal's other TV comedy dramas include Big Bad World, Blessed, Skins and Dr Who. He has appeared on his own Dave's One Night Stand and more recently on Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. Ardal has even found the time to write a book, his best-selling novel Talk Of The Town features in the book '1001 Books to Read Before You Die'.
However, it is as a stand-up comedian where Ardal's true vocation lies. He sees his role in life as 'highlighting the ridiculous'. Avoiding the overly crass and the obvious, his only interest is the truth - if there is such a thing...
'Displays a proficiency of delivery which puts him well ahead of the pack. He is a complete joy to watch, planting the sort of silly images that bump around in your head forever' (The Guardian)
'... skilfully handled running jokes, his manipulation of a capacity crowd is just as impressive... sharp and genial observation. O’Hanlon is certainly a comedian to be reckoned with' (The Daily Telegraph)
'If you love comedy and smart talking – and only go to see one comedy show, make it O'Hanlon' (Daily Express).
