Never miss another 'Ian Skelly' show
Ian Skelly + The Sundowners
British singer / songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Ian Skelly, who released his debut album, 'Cut From A Star' through Watertown Records in December, has announced a short U.K. tour – with full backing band - for February.
'Cut From A Star' is Skelly's first solo long player having previously drummed for The Coral for over a decade. The self-produced 11-track album was recorded over the last couple of years at The Coral's rehearsal space, The Coral Caves, on the Wirral using a vintage Tascam tape cassette machine. Skelly is joined on the record by Paul Duffy and Nick Power on bass and keyboards respectively. Additional musicians include The Coral's James Skelly, Miles Kane and Wirral newcomers The Sundowners on backing vocals.
Support for all shows is provided by The Sundowners, who are set to release their debut single, Hummingbird, in March.
After drumming in The Coral for over a decade, singer/ songwriter, multi- instrumentalist and visual artist Ian Skelly has struck out on his own with his first solo LP. The music combines influences from the spiritual side of psychedelia and emulates the techniques of '60s and '70s recording. This was achieved by using a tascam tape cassette machine, tracked vocals and layered guitars.

The Sundowners are a five-piece band of siblings and friends from just across the Mersey, in The Wirral. They're cooking up a melting pot of musical influences including Fleetwood Mac, Crosby Stills and Nash, Rolling Stones and Muddy Waters. After taking their time, writing real songs, putting on great gigs and capturing an avid audience around the country, they did a knockout performance on The BBC Introducing Stage at none other than Glastonbury Festival.
"The Sundowners are an undoubtedly exciting prospect with a very defined sense of who they are" - NME.
