Glasgow Music And Film Festival: Sonic Cineplex: Jeff Mills + Dieter Moebius + Raime + Neotantrik + Andy Votel + Sean Canty + Adam Stafford + RememberRemember + Joe Howe + Daniel Padden + Golden Teacher + More
For one day only, this iconic venue will be completely transformed into an alternative cineplex, full to the brim with film and live music, and featuring gems from the UK premiere of a new original score from Detroit techno master Jeff Mills to live scores from international and local DJs and performers and a host of classic films and undiscovered oddities.
An all day festival-within-a-festival, The Arches Café Bar and Restaurant will be serving up food and drink all day long while audiences explore the stages and screens scattered throughout the cavernous railway arches.
The main feature, Fritz Lang’s Woman in the Moon will be accompanied live by sci-fi obsessive Jeff Mills, playing his brand new original score across three decks. Meanwhile, Godfather of Krautrock, Dieter Mobius(Kluster), will present his live score to Metropolis and industrial techno duoRaimewill perform a live AV show (in association with Cry Parrot), alongside a host of other experiences and audio-visual treats from the likes of Adam Stafford, Remember Remember and more.
Widely considered as one of the best DJs and producers in techno, Mills was at the forefront of the pioneering Detroit scene during the 80s. After forming the legendary Underground Resistance label in 1990 with Mike Banks, Mills left to start Axis Records and Purpose Maker to push minimal techno.

A London-based duo seeking to re-establish electronic composition as a physical and emotionally inquisitive force, drawn into the dark by early European goth, minimal dance and synth wave. Having released two phenomenally well-received EPs on sharp new London label Blackest Ever Black, Raime are now bringing their vast waves of sound - both beautifully intricate and artfully industrial, all woven around gut-shaking rhythm cycles – into lucky live rooms.
