With a likeable manner on stage belying some of the stronger content, Nelson often has audiences laughing at things they know they really shouldn’t be laughing at. An MA degree in Politics from Glasgow University supports his brilliantly topical writing and, although his stand-up is certainly not for the easily offended, the material is intelligent, well conceived and beautifully crafted, all supported by a very confident delivery.
He is therefore a very sought-after comedian and writer, with both the skill and intellect to be able to adapt his material to suit and entertain any club, theatre or corporate audiences.
Prepare to be shocked.
'A star in the making' (The List)
'An unquestionably talented writer and performer... great jokes, and lots of them' (The Daily Telegraph)
'A remarkably accomplished stage presence... blistering material which pushes dangerously near the boundaries of good taste' (The Sunday Times).
Mark Nelson tour dates
Winner of the amused Moose New Act of the Year 2011.
'Combining off-beat jokes with songs about dying pets and choice fatigue, Cahill’s unpretentiously surreal and absurd outlook has seen him win numerous awards and secured him firmly in the one to watch category' (PBJ)
'This quirky performer has true star quality and bags of originality, mixing physical humour, gimmicks, wordplay and comedy songs. Imagine a cross between Sean Lock and Eddie Izzard and you might be getting somewhere, but nowhere close’ (Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard)
'... Wonderfully weird’ (The Guardian).
Pat Cahill tour dates
Canadian stand-up comedian who has performed at venues around the world in countries including The United States, The Caribbean, United Kingdom, Italy, Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Austria, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Australia, Thailand and China.
'Carries the comedy off with a natural flair, in a manner so effortless one might think it was ingrained in his DNA' (The Hindu, India)
'Dry, dark but with an irrepressible youthful charm' (The Toronto Star)
'Hilarious enough to stand alone' (The Seattle Stranger)
'Comic Myrehaug Making Waves' (The Toronto Sun).
Paul Myrehaug tour dates
Stand-up comedian and sit-down magician. Described as like 'Alison Steadman playing a beauty consultant doing Tommy Cooper-style magic – but without the fez', Mandy would take that as a compliment.
With an act made for the digitally-enhanced age, Mandy has audiences astounded with both the brilliance of some (certainly not all) of her magic and in hysterics at her off-the-cuff one-liners and observations.
