Never miss another 'Eels' show
Eels + Nicole Atkins
Following the announcement of their highly anticipated new album 'Wonderful, Glorious' - released on 4th February - Eels have confirmed details of an extensive March UK tour.
Mark Oliver Everett and his band, guitarists The Chet and P-Boo, bass player Honest Al and drummer Knuckles, head out on their first UK tour since the critically acclaimed 2011 shows, which included a Glastonbury set heralded by many as one of the performances of the festival. The Telegraph called the appearance "a witty, energetic and musically stunning set" in their list of top 10 highlights, while The Independent says it was "a soulful, funny, crowd-winning show" in their list of top 5 highlights.
New album 'Wonderful, Glorious', recorded in Everett's new Los Feliz, CA studio dubbed "The Compound", is his first album since 2010's 'Tomorrow Morning' - the final part of a trilogy of albums including 'End Times' and 'Hombre Lobo'.
This event takes place at O2 Academy Glasgow, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
According to frontman and founder Mark Oliver Everett (aka 'E'), Eels is a 'vessel' for his music. When asked about his music he says, 'This is the hardest question to answer, since, much like life, it's always changing. Sometimes it's simple and pretty, other times it's loud and grating. It's been a lot of things over the years and we still don't have an easy answer for this one'.

A laid-back Jersey girl who was equally into hair metal and her grandmother's Johnny Cash records, Nicole Atkins got started playing solo gigs at college in North Carolina, then moved home and gigged around New York's East Village. It was there that Atkins, 27, developed her strongest assets: a big voice full of longing and Loretta Lynn elegance, and slightly surreal folk-pop songs that evoke moonlit walks with the shadows closing in.
