Also known as Nick Talbot, Gravenhurst built a foundation in the Bristol music scene with his own label, Silent Age Records, establishing a stronger-than-ever DIY presence in the city and setting him up for signing to Warp Records. With the tragic passing of Nick in 2014, the sound of Gravenhurst continues to inspire musicians and fans across the country with beautiful guitars and soulful vocals.

Liverpudlian singer-songwriter Laura J Martin is back with new album ‘On The Never Never’ which tells of the disconnect Martin felt when returning home to Liverpool to find that all individuality had been erased and replaced by gleaming empty flats. With former thriving communities dissolved, Paul Kingsnorth’s 2009 study of a nation losing its identity, ‘Real England’, loomed large in her mind when writing the album: “Everywhere is becoming the same as everywhere else”.
Recorded in Nashville with members of Lambchop, Silver Jews and Jesus Lizard, the record is shot through with wit and humour alongside the sociopolitical themes. ‘On The Never Never’ skips through waltz timings, bears influences from Scott Walker to the Compass Point Allstars and picks up a guest vocal from Benjamin Zephaniah along the way. With ‘On The Never Never’, Martin has produced a hopeful record, full of joy, beauty and tongue in cheek looks at those in charge.
“On The Never Never is an equisite album with an extremely unique sound, i love the combinations of textures she puts together…a wonderful, unexpected quality to it… really surprising and lovely” Lauren Laverne
