Celebrate!: Bristol Bach Choir
For many years, these concerts have heralded the start of the festive season in Bristol.
This acclaimed choir presents a joyous celebration of Christmas through gloriously uplifting music and humorous and profound readings.
A fusion of traditional and contemporary, these magical concerts are guaranteed to fill you with festive fervour.
Widely regarded as one of the best choirs in the South West, the Bristol Bach Choir performs a broad range of music from the fifteenth century to the present day.
The choir has toured extensively overseas, giving concerts in Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Italy and Iceland. Following the success of Peter Leech's outstanding achievement as winner of the major Fondazione Mariele Ventre choral competition held in Italy in 2003, the choir was invited to represent Britain as one of three participating choirs in the 2005 competition in Bologna. The choir has also performed for BBC, ITV and Sky.
Bristol Bach Choir's busy schedule also includes recording. CDs include: Adoremus - Music of the Russian Orthodox, recorded live in Gloucester Cathedral; and Ancient and Modern, featuring Victoria's Magnificat Primi Toni and Lennox Berkeley's Mass for Five Voices.
