Never miss another 'Mono (Japan)' show
A passionately aggressive rock band from Tokyo whose music has been described as 'the soundtrack to the end of the world' but who actually exemplify a more hopeful vision. Their recent influences include orchestral textures and the tale of a girl who, after developing leukemia in the aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing put her hope in an old Japanese legend about folding paper cranes. Among the artists Mono have worked with is Steve Albini, who produced their album 'Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined'.

Dark Dark Horse is a collaboration between producer Jamie Ward (ex Kyte / Maybeshewill) and singer James Stafford (Kids In Cars). When they play live they are joined by Joe Norledge and Robin Southby.
Jamie writes the music and James turns electronic doodles into fully fledged songs. After posting some initial demos online, the power of the internet began to propel the bands music round the world. Typically this meant that the first label to take a shine to the band was based 5000 miles away from their hometown with Japanese label Rallye (Toro Y Moi, Au Revoir Simone, The Joy Formidable) offering to release an album.
After releasing their debut album 'Centuries' in Japan in November 2016 the band are now setting their sites a little closer to home, gaining day time national radio play, impressing BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson enough for him to ask them for an interview and in and odd twist of fate given odds to win the Mercury prize by Labrokes.com
