A Swinging Celebration: BBC Big Band
"In the 1960's and 70's audiences at Fairfield Halls experienced the best in big band sounds.
Regular visitors included Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Harry James, Maynard Ferguson and Buddy Rich.
Join the BBC Big Band, conducted by former Kenton trombonist Jiggs Whigham, as they recreate all the fun and excitement of those great big bands with an evening of swinging favourites. Including Jumping at the Woodside, Take the 'A' Train, Trumpet Blues & Cantabile and Malaguena in this special celebration of 50 years of Fairfield.
This concert will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 2."
