Never miss another 'Shazia Mirza' show
Christmas Comedy Cellar: Shazia Mirza, Seymour Mace, Anthony J Brown
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
Winner of the London Comedy Festival 2001 and star of Eve Ensler's hit show, The Vagina Monologues. Shazia is lifting the veil on the world of Muslim comedy.
She is well-known for her appearances on BBC's Have I Got News For You, Beautiful People, Muslim Driving School, The Now Show, Last Comic Standing on NBC and CBS’s 60 Minutes.
A practising Muslim, Shazia is known for her deadpan delivery on her observations of her religious world. She headlines all over the world and has performed solo tours in the US, Sweden, Denmark, France, India, Holland and Germany.
The only female Muslim stand-up comedian, she has come a long way since starting out in Birmingham in 2000 working as a science teacher and driving up and down the country for a booking for as little as £10.
'Wonderfully life enhancing... Her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy' (The Guardian).
'No one can resist - the room erupts' (Elle Magazine).
'Clever, ground-breaking and very funny' (Evening Standard)
'The Lenny Bruce of female stand-up' (Metro).

Despite looking like a slightly dishevelled and demented geography lecturer, he is a brilliant comedian. He crackles with childish energy, getting caught in flights of fancy and going off on strange tangents, but never loses sight of the gag. A performer worth the admission price alone.
He was a regular in BBC2's Johnny Vegas sitcom 'Ideal', a former City Life Comedian of the Year and Breakthrough Act at the North West Comedy Awards. Like a truly bizarre hybrid of Harry Hill, Half Man Half Biscuit and Viz comic, Seymour is a teller of extremely tall tales and High Priest of the terrifically twisted one-liner. He was also victorious in the Cup A Soup Comedy Challenge. You may mock such a curiously named title but the prize money was 10 grand.
'Leaves his crowd uplifted, entertained and laden with charity shop-bought gifts...Warm, original and weird' (Edinburgh Festival Guide)
'Breathtaking... a surreal performance, he had the audience in the palm of his hand from start to finish' (Evening Chronicle).

Clad in a sartorially edifying manner, like a dapper and dandy funeral director, Anthony cuts a unique on-stage presence with humour blacker than a raven that's slammed it's claw in a coffin lid.
And not the merest hint of profanity.
The overall effect is both perversely hypnotic and wholly original, leaving the audience zealously hanging on to every syllable like turncoat lemmings on a rockface.
Jongleurs / Metro Stand And Deliver Award winner and former BBC New Comedy Award Runner-up, he is a regular contributor to Radio 2's The Arthur Smith Lectures.
As seen on The Stand Up Show and Phoenix Nights.
'Dark quips and relentlessly witty audience-goading ad-libbing from a compelling host' (City Life)
'Hilarious ad-libs and wicked one-liners from an infectiously funny performer (The List).
