The Bodyguard: Beverley Knight, Alexandra Burke, Tristan Gemmill, Joelle Moses
The Bodyguard, based on the smash-hit film which starred Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, is currently wowing audiences and critics at the Adelphi Theatre, London starring Beverley Knight as Rachel Marron along with Tristan Gemmill as Rachel's bodyguard, Frank Farmer.
Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge - what they don't expect is to fall in love.
This romantic thriller features a whole host of irresistible classics, including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, I'm Your Baby Tonight, Run to You, I Have Nothing, Jesus Loves Me, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and one of the greatest hit songs of all time - I Will Always Love You.
Beverley Knight will continue the role of Rachel Marron until 31st May 2014, then Alexandra Burke will take over the part from 2nd June. At Wednesday and Saturday matinee performances the role of Rachel Marron will be played by Joelle Moses.
The sassy soulful singer, three times MOBO award winner and Lifetime Achievement recipient from the Urban Music Awards. Beverley is a versatile British soul sensation, able to record unforgettable catchy pop songs and perform in musical theatre, taking the lead role in UK productions of The Bodyguard and Memphis. Her true love is classic soul though, as her 2016 album 'Soulsville' demonstrated, containing a mix of classic soul cover versions and self-penned new soul tracks.

Alexandra Burke grew up in North London and is the daughter of former Soul II Soul lead singer Melissa Bell. Influenced by classic soul singers and contemporary heroes such as Mariah Carey and Beyonce, the three-time BRIT nominee rose to fame after winning the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008.
Her debut number one single Hallelujah sold over one million copies in the UK, a first for a British female soloist. Burke’s first album, Overcome saw the release of her subsequent number one singles Bad Boys and Start Without You. In 2011 she embarked on her first solo tour and was invited by Beyoncé to support her I Am... Tour. Her second album, Heartbreak on Hold, was released in June 2012 and 2014 sees the release of her third studio album.
Alexandra has also received acclaim for her portrayal of Rachel Marron in the sell-out run of Thea Sharrock’s hit musical The Bodyguard at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End.
