Wakeman, Pike and Lavender: Rick Wakeman, Ian Lavender
Rick Wakeman hosts an evening of chat with Ian Lavender reminiscing about their careers and David Croft's most enduring creation, Dad's Army.
You can also enjoy a post show reception on stage for a chance to meet Rick and Ian.
Money raised from this fundraising event will help to support the Theatre Royal's community and education programme. (Registered Charity 242977).
Classically trained pianist, Rick dropped out from the Royal College of Music to forge a career in music. He recorded 'Space Oddity' with David Bowie at the start of a career as a session musician in which he has played over 2000 different songs. A member of The Strawbs, he left to join rock supergroup Yes in 1971 - an association he has maintained irregularly over the subsequent years.
Rick has also recorded a number of highly successful solo albums, and has forged a side career as a professional raconteur; most recently as MC for Jongleurs comedy club. Rick's live shows range from rock to classical, from new age and new world music to incredibly funny storytelling.
