Slam Dunk Festival - Scotland: Taking Back Sunday + Motion City Soundtrack + Say Anything + Cancer Bats + Hit The Lights + The Story So Far
2012 welcomes in the 7th annual Slam Dunk Festival, back to the regular North and South locations of Leeds and Hertfordshire Universities. Slam Dunk 2012 has also announced that a stripped-down but still awesome line up will be setting up at both Cardiff University on Monday 28th May AND at Glasgow O2 ABC on Tuesday 29th May.
In the past, Slam Dunk Festival has played host to some of the rock worlds favourite acts including Paramore, New Found Glory, Fall Out Boy, You Me At Six and many more. It can also lay claim to propelling the careers of the likes of Young Guns, Lower Than Atlantis, The Blackout and We Are The Ocean.
This year looks set to be no different with Taking Back Sunday headlining the Main Stage over both days. Slam Dunk also plays host to the only UK shows for the Every Time I Die / Cancer Bats / Set Your Goals / Make Do And Mend tour that hits Europe earlier in the month.
There will be more exciting announcements to come from the world of pop punk, rock and punk over the coming weeks!
See www.slamdunkmusic.com/slam-dunk-festival for further information.
This event takes place at O2 ABC Glasgow (ABC1 & ABC2), which has achieved Silver Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Founded by 'punk for life' Long Islander Eddie Reyes, Taking Back Sunday is a five-piece combining catchy yet meaningful songwriting layered over a unique blend of rock's best attributes. Taking Back Sunday debuted with 'Tell All Your Friends', an album that like the 2004 follow-up 'Where You Want To Be' and 2006's 'Louder Now' reached Gold status. Their 2009 album 'New Again' was their third consecutive album to hit the Billboard Top 10 and was followed by 2010's live acoustic album 'Live From Orensanz'.
These Long Island legends continue to take chances and plunge headfirst in the sonic unknown with dazzling, and
remarkably catchy, results.

US band whose music bristles with swirling guitar energy, indie/synth sounds and a restless creativity that often shows itself in their wry wit and inventive lyrics, a skewed commentary on pop culture.
Motion City Soundtrack tour dates
Say Anything has been making odd, unclassifiable indie rock music since they were 14 or 15 years old, playing strangely literate and loud rock, characterised by what one might imagine if Larry David fronted a Fugazi cover band with the members of Queen.
Having been birthed from the indie/punk boom of the early twenty-first century, Say Anything rose to prominence with their (oddly) popular record …Is a Real Boy and somehow broke the 'pretty boy punk' mold by establishing a career.
Say Anything tour dates
A heavy, destructive, powerful explosion of southern metal, hardcore and punk rock. Their first release in 2005 saw the band touring across North America and today, only a few years later, they tour worldwide. A ferocious act, Cancer Bats have only one message and one mission: 'destroy'.

American pop-punkers Hit The Lights have been a mainstay in the pop punk community for over 7 years now, creating a name for themselves with their catchy and hook laden brand of pop punk.

A five piece punk / rock band from Walnut Creek, California.
The Story So Far played their first ever UK tour in 2012, supporting Man Overboard and receiving a rapturous response from British fans. Their music is a perfect amalgamation of pop punk and the hardcore roots it came from.
