Party On The Pitch: Human League + Bananarama + Belinda Carlisle + Heaven 17 + T'Pau
Formed in the late 1970s by Sheffield-based computer programmers Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware, The Human League evolved into one of the seminal '80s electro pop bands. Fronted by former hospital porter, Philip Oakey, and featuring Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall, the band went on to record some of the most influential songs of the decade.

The girl group that defined the '80s are back to their original, record-breaking line-up! Since their unforgettable last performance as a trio on The Brits in 1988, Keren and Sara continued as Bananarama, releasing records and touring to global audiences. Siobhan went on to have hit singles and albums around the world as part of Shakespears Sister before becoming a solo artist.
Bananarama made it into the Guinness Book Of Records as the most successful female group of all time on account of the fact they’d had more hit singles than any other girl band ever. To date they have had 30 chart hits. They hit the top of charts around the world. In the US, Venus became their first #1 single on the Billboard chart. Their combined record sales were over 40 million.

The brainchild of Martyn Ware and born from the collapse of the original Human League, 80's synth pioneers Heaven 17 have stood the test of time and been an influence on the future of modern music for over thirty years. Their debut 1981 album, 'Penthouse And Pavement', was, and remains, a modern classic. Glenn Gregory and Martyn continue to perform the hits from their overwhelming back catalogue, including 'Temptation' and '(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang', along with unveiling their first new material in 12 years.
